Jerry Kranitz, author of Cassette Culture: Homemade Music and the Creative Spirit in the Pre-Internet Age, joins us to talk about the rise of cassette culture in the 1980s and its continuing presence today. Jerry selected some representative tracks that came out of that scene in the 80s and 90s. Then we talk with Jeff Chenault of Fuse Factory, who is organizing the Cassette Culture Celebration 2026, happening Saturday May 23, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio.
